Vintage 1960s Eberhard & Co. Scafodat Automatic Cal. 261-123 Rare Original Box

  

A rare find; especially with the original box! Is a lesser known swiss brand, popular with the Italians. Registered the name "Scafodat" late into the 1950's. Patina; golden-toned tapering indicies; an applied date window; two small dents between 8 & 9, close to the hands - this is barely visible to the naked eye. Date Wheel: Roulette date wheel with open 6's & 9's - my personal favorite feature of this beautiful watch.

Case: Excellent condition; still retains sharp lines without any evidence of machine polishing. Width (with crown): 37 mm. Lug to Lug: 44.8 mm. Crystal: Plexiglass, bubble crystal in excellent condition. Original crown, signed with an Eberhard'E' crown.

18 mm, chestnut brown, Vera Pella Italian Leather strap. Calibre Movement: EBR 261-123, 25 Jewel Movement. Ore so a tempering of what to expect with a vintage watch. This keeps excellent time but I have not tested the accuracy of this movement.

It has made somewhere between 50-60. Revolutions around the sun so I would not expect it to be a diving buddy or +/- 2 seconds a day.
