The title, "Ilya Muromets and the Nightingale Robber, " is painted in gold and centered above the image, followed by the word "bylina, " a traditional form of heroic narrative poetry transmitted orally.

I have been told the artist is, "Shalaev" (Vladimir), but take this information at your own risk, I do not know for sure. The school of origin, Mstera, and a name, Golubeva M. Which may indicate the artist, are hand painted in gold below the image. This vintage Russian lacquer wood box from Mstera is a true masterpiece. Handmade with exquisite attention to detail, it features intricate scenes that showcase the rich Russian culture.
