Rare Vintage Chinese red lacquer storage leather box with wood stand

  

A handsome vintage 19th Chinese storage box made from leather and covered in reddish lacquer. Box hinges and clasp are metal.

Storage boxes like this were used to store calligraphy supplies and important notes. Wear consistent with age and use. 13" wide x 7" deep x 4 tall with no stand. Lovely vintage piece with minimal wear. Used condition with minor scrapes and wear.
