Rare Vintage 1959 Ideal Toys Atomic Cannon Army Truck Action Toy With Original Box in Very good Condition. This toy is from 1959 during the height of the Cold War and is an authentic replica of the U. Army M65 Atomic Cannon, a military vehicle that was designed to fire nuclear bombs at the enemy from the ground. Both trucks detach at each end, cannon barrel moves forward and also can be elevated by a crank to actually shoot safe polyethylene rockets with soft rubber tips. Please note that only 2 rockets are included. Also Note that trucks attach to the cannon assembly by a metal wire bracket on each end and the clip that the metal bracket attaches to on one truck is broken off but can still be attached for display purposes with no problem. This toy is rare and a very unique piece of American History, typical of the types of toys produced during the 1950s for kids to play with. Trucks are made of hard plastic and the cannon is made of steel.

The entire vehicle with both trucks attached measures an incredible 43 inches long, 5 inches wide and 6 inches tall with the cannon in the down position. The Original box is in very good condition with very nice graphics, no holes or punctures and all flaps attached, some storage scuffing and some light minimal writing on the bottom but very unnoticeable (see photo #11). Box is very clean and solid and still maintains its structural integrity. Please see photos for Condition.
