RARE FRENCH 18K SOLID GOLD DUPLEX QUARTER REPEATER POCKET WATCH c. Solid 18k gold open-faced big size pocket watch with silver dial and quarter repeater Duplex escapement - 1830. Guilloche silver dial is about 50 mm. Nice Breguet type blued steel hands.

The mineral crystal is fine. Gold-plated movement with duplex escapement, freestanding hammers. The repeater is actuated via the pendant button.

The hours are struck according to the hour and quarter hours with a double chime on 2 spiral gongs. Chime is clear and fine - appealing.

Mechanism is with very interesting superstructure and in perfect segmentation. Movement, blued screws, polished steel parts - in working order. Several hallmarks on the case, back lid hallmarked with the French Standard or Title mark 18k gold.

All hinges and catches are fine and both covers (and bezel) snap close nicely. Watch diameter 55 mm Weight 110 g.
