THIS IS A RARE & STUNNING GENTS VINTAGE 1966 ROLEX OYSTER PREPETUAL AIR-KING-DATE PRECISION WITH THE "EXPLORER" TYPE DIAL. This is an amazing example of the Rolex Oyster, Ref.

This Rolex Air-King-Date is a collector's dream and it would be hard to find another this good. It has the rare and highly desirable "Explorer" type dial configuration. The steel case and bezel are in excellent condition. The original dial is in gorgeous (unrestored) condition. The dial has raised steel batons with 6/9 numerals at the quarters & steel hands. It still retains its original box and also a Rolex service guarantee from 1997.

The very high grade 26 jewels automatic movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker. To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new super high quality Hirsch strap and stainless steel buckle. The stainless-steel case and bezel are in amazing condition with extremely light wear. The case measures 34mm across without the Rolex oyster screw-down crown and 41mm long including the lugs.

Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected: Montres Rolex S. A Geneva Switzerland, patented stainless steel, 1500 and dated lll. 66 so from the 3rd quarter of 1966. The original (unrestored) off white dial is in beautiful condition and with its Explorer type dial configuration this Rolex watch oozes 1960s style and elegance.

The dial is signed: Rolex Oyster-Perpetual, Air-King-Date, Precision, Swiss. The high grade automatic 26 jewels caliber 1520 movement is in very good condition and has been fully serviced.
